Intern - Accounting - Project Management (Summer 2022)

As a member of the VMware Sarbanes-Oxley ("SOX") PMO team you will be part of a dynamic project management team located in Palo Alto, CA. The team is in charge of driving the design and execution of VMware’s worldwide SOX compliance program, and as a member you will work closely with key stakeholders such as business owners, self-tester community, management as well as External Audit on various SOX compliance programs.
Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the 12-week internship?
During your program you will:
Work cross functionally with key partners throughout the finance organization
Learn to manage projects and deadlines and develop analytical and organizational skills
Think critically and adapt to changing business requirements
The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
Help lead key projects within the Internal Control over Financial Reporting functions
Help with the execution of ongoing strategic projects and initiatives within the global accounting operations organization
Assist with the testing and coordination of accounting processes and system implementations

The SOX PMO team oversees VMware's worldwide SOX compliance program, which includes working closely with the many business stakeholders.

Where is this role located?
Flexible: The role is considered flexible and will be a mix of working from a local VMware office and remote depending on your preferences and the arrangements determined with your future manager. You will be expected to live within a reasonable non-daily commute of the Palo Alto office.

This position is available to currently enrolled Bachelor-level students only, with a degree possession of December 2022 or later. The internship will be a 12-week, full-time commitment during Summer 2022.
