Compliance Summer Intern

Aware Recovery Care (ARC) offers a holistic approach to treatment and changes the way clients receive care throughout the country. ARC is a year-long, home based, addiction treatment program that works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to assist clients in their first year of recovery.

 Position Summary:

The Compliance Intern works within the Compliance Department, and is responsible for supporting the Policy Manager and compliance projects. The Compliance Intern works to gather content, field questions, and work with direct care staff as it relates to policy needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

 Field Questions on Compliance Issues via Zendesk, Email, or Symplr Compliance Portal
 Research state/federal regulations and TJC/NCQA standards to support findings
 Schedule and conduct meetings with respective subject matter experts, as needed
Document & Policy Management:
Assist in publishing all of our policies after being reviewed 
 Reaching out to outstanding reviews to resume review process
 Create documents that are missing from the Policy and Procedure Directory currently, as requested 
 General housekeeping and organization of directory
 Field questions about the symplr DPM portal via email (deferring to ZenDesk) and Zoom
 How to navigate, log in, etc. 
 Maintain the most up to date job aids and attachments as policies and procedures are uploaded.
 Utilizing a determined upon communication workflow with Allison A. for any updates to Job Aids/Policies to ensure that both ZenDesk and DPM are offering the same, up-to-date information.
 Review the Code of Federal Regulations, TJC Standards, and NCQA Guidelines and publish them into their respective policies. 
 Attend both policy committees to enhance understanding of how policy and procedure interact with all Aware staff and take on action items that are created in the meeting
 Maintain a sheet of all of our current policies to create a high level understanding of how our policies and procedures are connected, important keywords, and affected departments and job roles (QA/QM Committee project)
 Assist in defining and the L&D Development of training plans for:
 State specific content 
 New Hire/Requirements to be done before entering the field
 Recurring/To be completed annually 
 Job role specific training content


Requirements

  
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program related to healthcare, legal, political science, or business administration
 10 hours a week minimum 
 Hybrid of remote and in-office work
 Extensive skills in technology such as Google Suite, Microsoft
