Behavioral Health Clinical Intern

Arden Shore hosts Master’s Level MSW and MA-Counseling (or the like) students for a dynamic and formative clinical internship. We expect that upon completion students will be thoroughly prepared to obtain employment in a variety of settings.

The internship includes competency development in completing assessments and treatment plans and utilization of multiple treatment modalities with children, adolescents and adults. Interns will provide counseling (individual, family, couples, group) to assigned clients, across the life spectrum, based in the community or referred from Arden Shore’s child welfare programs (foster care, intact).

Students will become highly educated with regards to providing trauma informed treatment and they will learn to implement the Attachment, Self-Regulation and Competency framework (ARC). Lastly, students will be proficient in the completion of Medicaid compliant documentation which is a valuable skill with the expansion of managed care organizations.

Prospective interns will will abide by all requirements for program operations including those set by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services as well as those other regulatory agencies. This position complies with the Fair Labor Standard Act.
