Software Development Engineer

Job Description:

The successful candidate will work in a team of highly motivated and talented software engineers, responsible for delivering new capabilities on the 7x50 Service Router (SR Linux) in Nokia’s IP Routing Division. The Nokia 7x50 SR Linux product family provides high-performance networking which helps businesses stay ahead of evolving demands driven by the cloud, LTE/5G, and the Internet of Things. What you’ll do:

  • Responsible for developing features in C/C++ for Service Router Linux (SR Linux), which is a Network Operating System (NOS) being developed on Linux for the Data Center networks.
  • Defining and developing networking protocols based on IETF/IEEE standards
  • Work in a fast paced team that is building new products from ground up.
  • Reviewing and implementing PRDs defined by product management
  • Work closely with the QA org to resolve the production and pre-production bugs.
  • Work with gNMI, which is gRPC based protocol to enable telemetry and configuration management of the network devices.

Qualifications:

  • Solid programming skills (C, C++, GoLang)
  • Systems software development experience or embedded systems experience
  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments
  • gRPC, GNMI, socket programming is a plus
  • Any previous protocol development is a plus
  • Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Quick learner, self-starter, able to work independently
