Software Engineer, Early Career

Job Responsibilities 
Our ViaControl Product team creates monitor and control systems for antenna ground stations. We are seeking a Software Engineer with experience working with both Relational and Time-Series databases and Python programing language. An ideal candidate will have the knowledge and desire to support work the design, implementation, integration, and test of application software. As a Software Engineer, you will perform full-cycle software development work as a member of a team on various projects. The work of this team focuses on developing and supporting a Satellite ground station monitoring and control system.
Requirements
*Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field
*Experience with Relational and Time-Series databases
*Experience with Python
*Knowledge of LINUX OS platforms (i.e. Redhat/Centos, Ubuntu, etc.)
*US citizen or Permanent resident
*Up to 10% travel
Preferences
*Familiarity with Database Design
*Familiarity with networking and cloud computing concepts
*Experience with distributed application development
*Knowledge of Virtualization platforms and tools such as KVM, VirtualBox, VMWare/ESX hypervisors
*Continuous Integration & development (CI/CD) experience
*Working knowledge using Ansible playbook based SW/system deployment
*Experience with Monitoring & Control of sensors and devices
*SW deployment and Configuration tools Configuration manage tools, e.g. Ansible, puppet, chef, salt, etc.
