Mechanical Engineer Intern

Job Responsibilities 

As a Mechanical Engineer Intern, you will be part of a team that is responsible for the mechanical design and testing of antenna systems for mobile satellite telecommunications on board of various types of platforms, such as land vehicles, aircraft and fixed terminals. You will be responsible for the design for manufacturability and environmental requirements as well as verification (analysis and testing), design reviews, and productization. You will be empowered to coordinate with a dynamic, multi-functional team with strong personal ownership and vision to meet our performance requirements and drive innovation.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
  • Experience with standard industry CAD software
  • Basic knowledge of industry standard drafting practices
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to commit to a 10-12 week internship

Preferences

  • Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks/SolidEdge CAD software
  • Geometric Design & Tolerancing (GD&T) knowledge
  • Solid understanding of metal fabrication processes, especially machining, casting, welding, and sheet forming processes
  • Previous experience with RTCA DO-160G Environmental Testing for Airborne Equipment
