Software Engineer, Early Career - Network

Job Responsibilities 
As a Software Engineer, you will work with an outstanding team developing and deploying new technologies on a cutting-edge network. Viasat's unique position as a service provider and equipment manufacturer allows you to experience the whole lifecycle of networking software development - all the way from design to deployment! You will work with engineers to aid in design, documentation, testing, analyses, test plans, and test execution, to ensure deployed networks meet client needs. You will be working on in a broad array of possible topics such as network management and service orchestration, topology optimization, capacity planning, traffic steering and engineering, root cause analysis, graph algorithms for searching and path routing, intent-based networking, datasets collection and annotation for machine learning, AIOps and software defined networking.

Requirements
* Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Operational Research, or related science and technology fields
* Proficiency in Python, C/C++, Java, Golang, or JavaScript
* Excellent oral and written communication
* Knowledge in algorithm analysis, database, compiler, graph, machine learning and cloud technology
* Can-do demeanor and curiosity to explore and discover new technologies
Preferences
* Understanding of basic computer networking and telecommunications, routing, switching, and related networking protocols (i.e., BGP, IS-IS/OSPF, L3VPN, VLAN/VxLAN, EVPN, and multicast)
* Courses taken in probability and statistics, linear algebra, algorithm analysis, math optimization, and artificial intelligence
* Ability to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally
