Are you seeking an engaging accounting role that will allow you the opportunity to make a major impact while learning and growing? Be a part of an exciting opportunity as a member of our Next Evolution of Accounting Resourcefulness (N.E.A.R.) Tax Team. The NEAR Tax team was created to support the Tax Practice at FORVIS with preliminary tax preparation functions. Your primary focus will be on productivity and innovative solutions to deliver quality work products to the FORVIS Tax Practice. 

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare tax returns for various entities
  • Prepare individual and trust tax returns
  • Prepare and review various supporting tax calculations (training provided)
  • Handle multiple tasks and manage schedule in alignment with department needs
  • Provide timely feedback and progress updates for all work in process
  • Comply with professional standards and ethics
  • Ability to transition between multiple projects
  • Ability to work well both independently and collaboratively with team members
  • Perform or assist with other services and special projects, as needed
  • Understand and demonstrate the professional qualities identified in the firm's Code of Conduct
  • Develop a working knowledge of PC applications appropriate to his/her work assignment
  • Record time daily
  • Maintain and achieve high quality work, client relations and team relations
  • Commitment to the lifelong learning necessary to acquire , develop and maintain the business technical and professional expertise necessary for success in the firm industryand profession
  • D elivers work timely and accurately, supporting the teams' efforts in the field
  • Makes team/client service a #1 priority. Builds effective working relationships with teams in the field. Responds in a timely manner to calls and correspondence.

  • Achieve efficiency as measured by actual hours vs budgeted hours for an engagement
  • Thoroughly review work product for accuracy and completeness
  • Be attentive to the quality of work product
  • Be counted on to complete work in a reliable and dependable fashion and apply review feedback from experienced tax professionals to future assignments
  • Serve as a resource for new staff and interns, assume the role of a peer mentor and providing training as appropriate
  • Must be available to work 40 hours per week and overtime around deadlines
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the leader of the NEAR TaxTeam


Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree preferred, preferably in business or accounting
  • Associates Degree is strongly preferred
  • High degree of computing acumen is preferred
  • Proficient in Excel and adaptable to tax compliance applications preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required
