Group/Division
The Global Service Support Organization (GSS) team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Engineering, Product Training, and Technical Support. The GSS organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services. Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.

Job Description/Preferred Qualifications
KLA is seeking a talented and motivated individual for an internship position, working within Laser Scanning New Product introduction (NPI) group. Individual will have the opportunity to work with multiple cross-functional teams to develop and deliver features that track and monitor system availability, reliability, and maintenance costs of new inspection systems. Primary responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Systems and Reliability Engineering teams to develop a data processing utility that accomplishes the following:
  • Track and calculate the system uptime, downtime and availability via defined metrics over time based on field data. 
  • Statistical analysis and display of selected data in user-accessible format
  • Determines correlations between multiple data sets
  • Develop or enhance a service feature that predicts end of useful life based on on-tool data and defined thresholds

Qualifications

  • Pursuing BS or MS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics.
  • Familiar with MATLAB and Python; experience with NumPy and Pandas for data analysis desirable.
  • Must work well in a collaborative team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Must have a working knowledge of probability and statistics.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Working towards:  Bachelor's Degree with minimum 2 years completion of BS degree.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven coding experience.
  • Expert level with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must be self-driven, and a strong team player.
