Information Technology CO-OP Opportunity 2022-2023

Caledonian Alloys is the world leader in the management of nickel and cobalt base superalloy and titanium alloy recycling for the aerospace, land-based turbine, and chemical industries. The company transforms revert, through rigorous process, into material which can be re-melted, to produce new nickel, cobalt, or titanium alloys. Revert consists of excess alloy material which can arise from high performance component manufacturing, from decommissioned parts, and from the melting process. Caledonian Alloys provides customers with a range of tailored revert management services designed to enable them to optimize the use and value of their own revert material. Accredited with all major vacuum and high temperature melters worldwide, Caledonian Alloys supplies fully processed nickel and titanium revert material to the melting industry. We also purchase revert material from a wide range of industrial customers throughout the world.


Position Summary
The IT Co-op will complete various IT related projects, including system upgrades and troubleshooting.
 
Hours may vary based on candidate's availability and the company project load with a minimum of twenty (20) hours a week for a six-month duration. Full time workload over summer and breaks may be available. Student needs to be available for a minimum of 2 consecutive semesters (1 year). Student would need to be available to work between the hours of 7AM and 5PM, Mondays are preferred as one of the student's workdays

Essential Functions
·      Adheres to plant and department safety rules, safely operate all equipment and tools, identifies and reports safety problems, corrects when possible.
·      Maintain clean and safe work area.
·      Perform Server Room inventory and 6S.
·      Review of folder permissions on file servers and possible re-structuring.
·      Provide general computer support within the plant.
·      Deploy hardware as required.
·      Complete a baseline review of Revert for required software/Hardware.
·      Assist in Revert barcoding project
·      Facilitate an upgrade of Revert computers to Windows 10 current approved release.
·      Performs all aspects of the position according to the PCC Code of Conduct and SOX guidelines.

Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a minimum of two years post-secondary education in an Information Technology (IT) related field at a post-secondary education institution and continue to be actively enrolled. Current GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Competencies
  • Good working knowledge of all MS Office applications and internet applications.
  • Must possess a strong work ethic, be willing to learn and have a desire to succeed.
  • Ability to work under moderate supervision and use own initiative.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills at all levels of the organization, including written, oral, email, telephone, and presentation.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work effectively.
