Financial And Accounting-Intern

We are looking for a driven Accounting & Finance Intern who is ready for an immersive, real-world experience. Under the supervision of our Financial Revenue Manager and Controller , you can expect to partici pate in the preparation of financial reports, analyze actual financial data, perform AP/AR duties, and as sist with other accounting activiti es. We’ll rely on you to pro vide support to our teams on critical projects while fostering a culture of continuous learning and inclusion as you bring fresh ideas to the table .


Responsibilities:


AR and Billing Duties – Assist the collections team by depositing funds into QuickBooks and ensuring the correct AR account is credited. The role will also assist in billing responsibilities by ensuring the appropriate backup is attached to each invoice. There will be invoice audit responsibilities where the role will need to review invoices billed against contracts to ensure accurate billings are taking place.

AP & Credit Card Duties – Ensure that all AP and credit card duties are completed accurately and timely. This includes ensuring all invoices and charges are appropriately approved and documented, coded to the correct GL account, posted in the right period, and paid in a timely manner . In addition, all backup supporting the charges are to be uploaded into QB including all credit card charges.

The position will assist the accounting department in multiple areas that may need focus and attention including but not limited to payroll and HR tasks, billing, financial analysis, and AP.

General ledger work includes preparation and posting of journal entries as well as preparation of account reconciliations.

Assisting with year-end audits.

Research and assistance with incorrect postings and/or account reclasses.

Ad hoc projects as needed.

Learning new systems and helping streamline current processes.


Qualifications:

Working towards a bachelor's or master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

Experience using Excel , NetSuite , BilllingPlatform, and/or QuickBooks.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responds promptly and positively to questions and requests.

Deadline and detail-oriented.

The most important aspect of qualifications is going to be the candidate’s demeanor, disposition, and approach to the work.

Driven by successfully achieving personal, departmental, and organizational goals.

The candidate must also be flexible and nimble when approaching their tasks. As a young organization, there are several areas for which we need improvement and being able to quickly pivot from one task to another is key.

Maintaining a positive attitude and keeping all stakeholders updated on tasks will be important to be seen as a valuable contributor to the organization.
