Tax Admin Intern - Boston

Mazars is seeking high-performing students to join the Tax Admin team in our Boston, MA office. As a Tax Admin intern in this practice you will be responsible for providing the highest levels of client service excellence while working with other professionals and interacting with valued clients.

Duration: Ongoing (20 – 29 hours per week)
Required Skills and Experience:

  • Actively working towards Bachelor or Masters degree in Accounting (preferred)
  • Strong academic credentials (Minimum GPA of 3.0)
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills
  • Able to operate in a paperless workplace and proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Motivated and hard working in order to meet client deadlines and provide excellent service to clients
  • Motivated to work as part of a team and build constructive working relationships
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook Suite (Word, Excel, e-mail, calendar and address book)
  • Familiarity with Axcess, XCM and ProSystem Engagement a plus
  • Ability to handle fast-paced environment
  • Possess a high level of confidentiality, professionalism and integrity
  • “Hands on”, extremely detail-oriented, and organized
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day responsibilities
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends during tax seasons (March-April and September-October)

Professional Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with tax administration professionals to process tax returns
  • Collating Tax Returns and tax extensions
  • Scanning Tax Work Papers, Brokerage Statements and miscellaneous documentation
  • Shipping Tax Returns (able to lift 30 lbs.)
  • Track and delivery of tax returns
  • Assist efiler with tracking efile acceptances, rejections and errors
  • Tracking the delivery of paper filings to client locations
  • Monitor in-house and external deadlines to ensure compliance
  • Assist in mailroom, covering when he takes PDO
  • Assist with preparing 1099’s
