Internship for the WVDNR Game Management Wildlife
DNR GAME MANAGEMENT INTERNSHIPS
The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources, Wildlife Resources Section will offer game management internships to undergraduate students with a major in wildlife and fisheries management. Internships will run from approximately May 8, 2023 through August 15, 2023. Students selected for an internship position will be assigned under the supervision of a wildlife manager or biologist. These students will assist with and learn various skills such as mowing wildlife clearings, vegetation sampling, food plot development, Canada goose and mourning dove trapping/banding, handling nuisance animal calls from the public, GIS analysis, timber cruising/marking, general maintenance and other habitat enhancement activities. Interested individuals should e-mail their resume and a cover letter with professional goals and aspirations to the respective biologist listed above by February 10, 2023. Please put “DNR Internship” in the subject line. Housing will be provided at each location (except Neola WMA) and salary will be paid at the rate of $15.00 per hour.
