Description:
The Clinical Supervisor ensures the delivery of high-quality individualized and evidenced-based treatment and interventions to individuals participating in inpatient psychiatric treatment. This position is both clinical and administrative. Clinical responsibilities include being an integral member of the interdisciplinary team, with particular expertise in the areas of trauma informed psychiatric programming and behavior management practices across the lifespan. Administrative responsibilities include direct supervision of staff, students and volunteers of the programs as well as program development, administration and evaluation.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling or related field required.
  • LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or LSW with 5 years' experience required
  • Knowledge of trauma informed practices, group process, family systems, development stages, mental health systems and mental health regulations required. Analytical, planning and decision-making skills are necessary to effectively make accurate and rapid judgements in critical situations.
Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Services and Treatment Planning:Conducts independent psychosocial therapeutic services using various evidenced-based modalities and specialized skills in individual therapy, family therapy, marital therapy and group therapy.
  • Utilizes independent critical assessment skills and sound clinical judgement to review in-depth psychosocial assessment sand elations to develop treatment plans and triage individuals in care for specific therapies and targeted interventions.
  • Advocacy and Clinical LeadershipUtilizes clinical expertise to advocate for specialized treatment needs for individuals in care through participation in interdisciplinary collaborative processes. Supervises the development and implementation of behavioral support plans and other specialized and targeted treatments. Provides education to staff in the performance of therapeutic functions within the program, including orienting, evaluating, and directing these individuals.
  • Administrative: Interviews and evaluates candidates for employment, making recommendations regarding the most qualified candidates. Provides direct clinical supervision to staff as needed. Meets with individual staff members regarding their performance and program issues and conducts staff performance evaluations. Takes disciplinary action when necessary. Provides direct clinical supervision to staff as needed. Maintains knowledge of related regulatory requirements (e.g. Joint Commission, Mental Health Procedures Act, HIPAA, MCO regulations, etc.)
