Resort Recreation Spring Intern - Seasonal

SUMMARY:
The primary purpose of this position is the planning and execution of adult, family and children's activities, and corporate group recreation.
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Current college student with a focus in Recreation or Hospitality looking to fulfill college internship requirements.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
 
  • Work to enhance member and guest experience so that each guest becomes a repeat guest.
  • Maintain a log containing participation for the activities and events provided.
  • Conduct walking tours of Pinehurst property and Village of Pinehurst for guests.
  • Assist with planning and executing holiday decor around property.
  • Oversee seasonal social programming for resort guests and members.
  • Responsible for setting up various aspects of group recreation activities, including demonstrations, supplies, etc.
  • Assist in developing and implementing additional activities and ideas for family holiday events.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of holiday activities such as Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day and Thanksgiving.
  • Responsible for maintaining open lines of communication and good rapport with the Recreation Manager, Recreation Supervisor, Members, and Resort guests who participate in the activities and events.
  • Ensure that all State, Village and Moore County standards and requirements are met.
  • Assist with Carolina Pool Gate coverage when needed.
  • Must report on a regular basis to the Recreation Manager on all important issues concerning children, participants, Members, and Guests.
  • Research and prepare presentations on new group recreation ideas to include: team building, outdoor, indoor, and children activities.
  • Because of the fluctuating demands of the resort's operation, it may be necessary that each employee perform a multitude of different functions. Therefore, as an essential part of this position, the Recreation Intern will be expected to help others when the occasion arises, just as other Employees are expected to help. Accordingly, the Recreation Intern may be expected to perform other tasks as needed or directed.
