GIS Analyst

FOCUS Broadband is seeking a GIS Analyst for our Outside Plant Engineering/GIS department. This position will assist in FOCUS Broadband’s communications infrastructure, including integrated customer and operations data in a fast-paced, growing telecommunications company. Candidates for this position must be able to work in a multifaceted fast-paced environment. A strong candidate will bring the expertise of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), geographic trends and findings, analytical skills, customer service competence, thoughtful communication, and technical proficiency of ESRI’s ArcMap.

·      Provide exceptional customer service, no matter if it’s an internal or external customer.

·      Strong organizational skills

·      Good verbal, listening, and written communication skills

·      Must stay up to date with new technologies and/or techniques to increase efficiencies

·      Working knowledge of GIS analysis and cartographic principles, practices, and mapping software including GIS (ESRI, ArcMap 10.6.1 Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online), and AutoCAD.

·      Must be able to coordinate integrations efforts between Engineering and Information System departments.

·      Programming experience with working knowledge of Python and Microsoft Access

·      Experience with ArcSDE, SQL Server, or database support and maintenance.

·      Maintains database of maps, cable counts, CPRs (Continued Property Records), availability of customer service levels, and regulatory reporting as required as part of ongoing records maintenance.

 

Other software will be Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Dynamics AX, or other authorized FOCUS Broadband software.

·      Bachelor’s Degree in GIS, Geography, or other technical fields of study with GIS concentration or 5 years’ equivalent experience in an aggressive GIS analytical role.

·      GISP or GISC certification is required.

·      Maintains a current and valid driver’s license to perform the duties of this position.
