Summary
The Sports section of the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department (CRPD) prepares young professionals for many different positions in today's Sports Industry. The Sports Department of CRPD is currently offering opportunities for young professionals to gain experience in multiple realms of Athletic Administration and Event Management.
Employees in the Sports Section of CRPD will experience approaches to financial, social, and management practices in the sports and recreation industry in a large and growing city. This position allows the opportunity for hands-on experience and real responsibilities that will empower and prepare employees for work in sports operations around the nation!
Essential Functions and Duties
Our front desk staff members are required to have a great understanding of all aspects of the sports section. In addition to handling calls that come into our front office, these staff members are involved with the management of leagues, gym and facility rentals, recruiting efforts, issuing invoices, taking payments, and much more! Our front desk staff members are essential to the operation of the sports office within Columbus Recreation and Parks.
  • Athletic Administration (Work with programmers in the administrative office with the management of leagues, weekly/daily events and projects).
  • Customer Service (Manage all incoming calls to the sports office, answering questions, transferring calls, greeting customers at our front desk)
  • Related Clerical Responsibilities (Taking payments, recording use at our facilities, working with human resources in approving new hires, etc.)
Requirements, Wages, and Hours
Work hours are 8am-5pm Monday-Friday. There is a great deal of flexibility to accommodate student's school schedules during Spring, Summer, and Fall Terms.
Possession of a valid driver’s license is a condition of employment for this position. Wages begin at $15.00 an hour.
