This position will be in direct support of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. This new law allows Medicare to negotiate drug prices, caps out-of-pocket spending for prescription drugs in Medicare, and gives more Americans access to affordable health insurance coverage at HealthCare.gov.

About the role:

As a Health Insurance Specialist, you will develop and implement policies as well as operationalize provisions of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 (IRA).

Salary:

$99,908 - $129,878 per year. This is the BASE salary. Final pay will be determined by experience and location.

What you'll do:

  • Provides technical expertise, guidance, and support on drug rebate and negotiation policies related to the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022.
  • Serves as a leader on multi-disciplinary teams, leading and providing guidance for the team to research, innovate, create, organize, and recommend new and amended national policies.
  • Manages issues and information analysis, ensuring coordination of projects cutting across work units.
  • Conducts program-related studies and data analysis regarding program policy analysis that provides decision makers with quantitative and qualitative data and analysis for program management.
  • Advises high-level decision makers and management officials regarding drug negotiation and inflation rebate policies, health policies, legislation or regulation, and special projects.

Experience we're looking for:

(1) Analyzing healthcare data and evidence, and developing models supporting new approaches to laws, guidance, regulations, or contract negotiation to support payment policies for healthcare programs.

(2) Presenting recommendations and conclusions based on analysis and evaluation of health insurance programs, including data and models, that describe policy options and impacts.

(3) Providing technical direction and advising high-level leadership regarding policies and research outcomes related to health care programs.
