Structural Engineer Intern
ESCM is seeking an engineering intern (EI) to assist in our Charlottesville office. The EI will have the opportunity to assist on projects as they align with their skill set and knowledge base. They will work closely with structural engineers within the office to increase their aptitude over the duration of their internship. The EI will be based in a primary office but may travel to other office locations as determined by project load. This can be a part-time or full-time position, dependent on availability and demand. The EI will report to the Director of Structural Engineering.
Engineering Functions
- Assist with design, drafting, and analysis functions for various structures
- Attend site visits with project team as needed
- Prepare construction documents
- Interpret and verify industry standards, guidelines, and codes for project deliverables
- Continuously foster a company culture that is positive and personable
Administrative Tasks
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or related field
- Experience with Revit, AutoCAD and Bluebeam preferred
- Ability to travel – valid driver’s license
