MHN Strategic Marketing, Planning and Business Development
Internship Description
The Mountain Health Network (MHN) Strategic Marketing, Planning and Business Development Office is seeking a Public Relations Intern who is a creative self-starter with a desire to contribute on a large scale. The intern will learn the inner workings of the public relations field and gain a unique insight into health care marketing and communications.
Responsibilities include:
· Fully support MHN’s marketing and PR strategies through external and internal communications efforts
· Create and curate engaging content for internal publications and digital media efforts (i.e. social media and website)
· Gather content and write press releases, newsletter articles, online blogs and social media content
· Build and update media lists and databases
· Schedule, coordinate and attend various events
· Assist in administrative duties (i.e. responding to online web inquiries)
Requirements and Skills:
· Strong desire to learn along with professional drive
· Strong writing skills and knowledge of AP style
· Solid understanding of the different social networks with an emphasis on short form reels/videos
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Proficiency with MS Office and other software-based communication tools
· Passion for the PR industry and its best practices
· Current enrollment in a related B.S. or Master’s program at an accredited university/college (first preference will be given to those majoring in public relations, digital marketing and/or communications)
Vaccination and Laboratory Testing Requirements:
1. Tuberculin Skin Test (TST) or have records of one within the last 6 months
2. Ten Panel Urine Drug Screen
3. Successful Local Criminal Background Check and OIG (Office of Inspector General) check
4. Flu vaccine during flu season (October – March)
Internship opportunities are available for Summer and Fall 2023. This is an unpaid position. If we have more than one interested candidate who meet our criteria, we will consider hiring more than one position.
