Program Coordinator, Safe Parking Program

Position Title: Safe Parking Program Coordinator 
 
Organization: Jewish Family Service of San Diego 
 
Department: Safe Parking Program (SPP) 
 
Position Type: Full-Time (37.5+ hours/week), Non-Exempt 
 
Work Setting: Onsite 
 
Reports To: Jesse Mendez 
 
Pay Range: $23.50/hour

Position Overview:   
The Safe Parking Program supports families and individuals living in their cars find safety and support with the overall goal of long-term housing stability. Working with the entire Safe Parking team, the Program Assistant will provide administrative support in managing program volunteers, answering phones, managing supplies, and following up with program participants.  The position requires a high level of comfort in working with multiple computer programs, interfacing with new people regularly, as well as a desire to work in a team environment. The position reports to the Director of Safe Parking. 
 
Responsibilities:  
  • Manage and accurately track program volunteers in volunteer database 
  • Create, maintain, and organize all volunteer projects and communications 
  • Order program materials and supplies, organize office storage with assistance 
  • Maintain and update all program personnel and other related program files 
  • Oversight of staff training requirements and contract compliance items 
  • Assist Program Director with staff calendars and program office management  
  • Support Program Director with special projects as needed 
  • Prepare all check and credit card requests and enter information into fiscal software 
  • Track program related supply orders and interface with accounting staff 
  • Assist with program participant follow up phone calls and documentation 
  • Coding and submitting all invoices to PaperSave 
  • Communication and coordinating with internal programs 
  • Training/onboarding of future Program Coordinators 
  • Monitoring performance quality of Program Coordinator 
  • Helping with new hires/potential new hires (phone screening and reference checks) 
  • Other duties as assigned by Program Director 
 
Skills/Experience/Abilities That Are a Must-Have:  
  • Bachelor of Arts preferred with exceptional computer experience 
  • Comfort working in an environment that has multiple languages spoken and a diverse service population 
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences present in the organization’s/ program’s service population 
  • Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite and client management software. Prior data input experience using Microsoft Excel or Efforts to Outcomes preferred 
  • Previous experience working in an office or volunteer support role to a team of staff 
  • Excellent organizational skills 
  • Ability to learn and utilize new computer applications 
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals 
  • Ability to analyze data and deal with complex problems involving several variables 
  • Reliable, detail-oriented and initiates hard-work without being prompted 
 
Skills/Abilities We’d Like You to Have: 
  • Fluency in English, bilingual and bicultural candidates (Spanish) are preferred  
  • Prior experience in the non-profit sector preferred
