Talent Acquisition Intern

General Summary
This position offers extensive development and mentorship for anyone seeking a role in human resources and will support a wide range of HR and recruitment including all facets of talent acquisition, focusing on candidate/hiring manager management, recruitment strategy, recruitment marketing, and project management.
 
Essential Job Accountabilities
  1. Coordinate and promote the company-wide college, professional, and craft recruitment efforts to strengthen and build the company’s presence and candidate pipeline.
  2. Develop and apply key soft skills such as networking, professional skills development and presenting to ensure fully-rounded professional development.
  3. Drive engagement strategy and optimize hiring tools by leveraging technologies such as Workday, Handshake, LinkedIn Recruiter, Paiger, Splice.
  4. Lead marketing & communications focused projects in areas of recruitment, talent acquisition operations and other topics relative to the recruiting and hiring of industry top talent to increase attraction and retention.
  5. Partner with TA and Marketing & Communication leadership to create approved recruiting event materials, including marketing flyers and company overview presentations to increase engagement amongst candidates.
  6. Build strong relationships with candidates and hiring managers to ensure the recruitment needs of the field and corporate office is being met.
  7. Act as the liaison with employment agencies and temporary agencies (for regular and temporary employees) to ensure corporate vacancies are filled in a timely manner.
  8. Assist with the administration of a variety of company programs (related to recruitment) such as relocation, applicant assessments, outside recruiters, background screening, applicant tracking, etc. to ensure effective and efficient operations.

Education
  • Currently an undergraduate junior or senior enrolled in a full-time academic program from an accredited college or university with a related major during the period of the internship.
OR
  • A recent college graduate with a related major, such as Human Resources, Business, Journalism, Advertising, Marketing, Communications, or related minor is a plus.

Work Experience
  • Human Resources and/or Project Management experience is preferred
  • Prior recruitment, customer service, or sales experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Strong knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the field of human resources
  • Excellent consultative and communication skills (written & oral) and ability to interface effectively with all levels of customers (internal and external) and effectively disseminate information
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel and PowerPoint, and the ability to learn new software quickly
  • Ability to properly manage and prioritize resources and projects
  • Sound decision making ability with the experience to balance consensus against authority as appropriate
  • Team player who can operate effectively within a matrix management environment
  • Ability to work in high production environment and respond quickly and effectively under pressure

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to operate a computer keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
