Event Internship - Fall 2023

As a result, the majority of our staff are hybrid and work both from home and onsite. Our current hybrid approach requires staff to work onsite a minimum of one day each week: every Tuesday. Hybrid staff are also welcome to come in additional days each week or may be asked to come in on other days by their manager. 

All employees who will be working on-site at any GBH facility and/or attending GBH events are required to be up to date with their COVID-19 vaccines as defined by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) unless a request for an accommodation on medical or religious grounds has been requested and approved by GBH.

JOB OVERVIEW
The intern will provide administrative and project support to the department to ensure seamless delivery of daily office administration and operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Member Engagement Event Production Intern would gain valuable experience working with in-person and virtual events on a wide variety of topics with counts ranging from 200 – 3,000 guests, including major festivals, as well as screenings, live musical performances, the Fine Wine Auction, trivia nights, book clubs and kids and family events year-round. Responsibilities include:
* Assist the Special Events staff with event logistics and cultivation
* Create event presentation and promotion materials
* Analyze event metrics for reporting purposes
* Aid with day-of-event responsibilities from set-up to breakdown
* Work as a team to brainstorm event improvements and new ideas

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Superbly organized and able to manage multiple projects, tasks, and shifting priorities. Excellent communication skills — written, oral and listening
  • High level proficiency in MS Office
  • Knowledge of financial concepts (cash flow, budgeting, etc.)
  • Ability to understand work environment, interpersonal dynamics, and the context of decision-making on a variety of levels
  • Ability to grasp concepts quickly and apply to daily tasks
  • Past office experience preferred
  • Collaborative approach and nature
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in work and presentation
  • Strong drive to achieve
  • Willing to take appropriate initiative and exercise good judgment to get the job done
  • Customer Service orientated
  • Personal integrity and ability to manage confidential information appropriately

JOB-STATUS
Paid Internship $17/hour (Part-time)

INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW
GBH internships provide students with valuable work experience and real-world knowledge across many different fields of study, from TV and radio production to web design, accounting, law, and other administrative areas.

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
  • Fall 2023 Virtual Internship dates: September 11th through December 1st.
  • Candidates must have their own computer and access to Wi-Fi.
  • Candidates must be in an Undergrad or Grad program and have work authorization for the United States.
