Mobile Engineering Internship, Vehicle Software (Winter/Spring 2024)

What to Expect
Disclaimer: This position is expected to start around January or February 2024 and continue through the entire Spring term (i.e. through May 2024) or into Spring/Summer 2024 if available. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and in-person, for most internships. Please consider before submitting an application.
 
International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week. Many students will be limited to part-time depending on their academic standing.

About the Team
Tesla is seeking passionate mobile engineering students who thrive in a fast-paced environment and want to apply CS concepts to real world projects. Our Mobile Engineering team is responsible for Tesla’s app which includes exciting features such as: smart summon, vehicle controls, keyless entry, and sentry mode.


What You’ll Do
  • Design, code, and maintain mobile user experiences.
  • Optimize code for performance, stability and maintainability.
  • Work with a cross-functional team of hardware engineers, application/UI software engineers, QA/Validation, and designers.


What You’ll Bring
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or a related field.
  • iOS experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Swift, React/React Native and Kotlin is a huge plus.
  • Excellent grasp of fundamental computer science concepts, good at solving complex technical problems.
  • Experience using common design patterns. High standards for code quality, maintainability, and performance.
