Position Description:
The future of transportation is here. Our industry is going through a once-in-a-generation evolution as we push to zero emission mobility, and the Modine Advanced Thermal Systems team is helping to drive that cleaner future. In this position, you will have a critical support role in our Advanced Thermal Systems team, as we work closely with our customers to define the future of commercial electric vehicles. You will improve efficiencies and reduces costs within our Advanced Thermal Systems operations. The Industrial Engineering Co-op position is based out of our Lawrenceburg, TN manufacturing plant supporting our Advanced Thermal Systems business serving Bus, Truck, Specialty Vehicle and Last Mile Delivery.  

Key Responsibilities:
  • You will play an integral part of our team, while gaining real-world experience and a comprehensive understanding of various manufacturing processes within a global organization
  • Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives that support continuous process improvement
  • Improve processes to ensure that quality products are delivered on-time at competitive cost
  • Leverage industrial engineering skills to optimize factory layout, materials flow, material handling, ergonomics, and station layout
  • Work with cross-functional team to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity key performance indicators
  • Hands-on approach to data collection, analysis, recommendations of opportunities, and implementation
  • Participate in root cause analyses, non-conformance investigations and corrective action implementations
  • Assist with transitioning products from prototype to production
·      Assigned a dedicated mentor to provide you with valuable coaching and feedback to ensure you are reaching your goals

Required Qualifications:
  • Ability to work 40 hours a week during the scheduled semester and summer
  • Analytical skills: ability to develop fact-based recommendations resulting from in-depth data analysis
  • Communication skills: collaborative team player with an entrepreneurial spirit and can-do attitude
  • Project management skills: strong work ethic and ability to meet project deadlines
  • Eagerness to operate in a dynamic fast paced environment with an ability to drive change.
  • Auto CAD knowledge

Education Requirements:
  • Students currently enrolled in at least their sophomore year pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering or related discipline with a minimum 3.0 GPA
