Applications Engineer
Job Overview:
As an Applications Engineer at Mechdyne, you will use creative thinking to design back-end control system code and front-end interfaces for audio/video systems. You will apply critical thinking to configure, troubleshoot, and commission devices within audio/video systems for current and future clients.
What You’ll Do:
- Work with a small team to design modern and intuitive user interfaces for audio visual (A/V) and VR systems.
- Develop back-end programming for control systems that automate and simplify use of complex systems.
- Provide support and services to guarantee successful integrations and deliveries.
- Interface directly with customers and project managers to help design and integrate solutions that clients love.
- Troubleshoot and configure devices (such as touch panels, projectors, and audio DSP's) to build complex A/V systems.
- Travel to client locations to ensure installed control systems and software solutions are performing to their best ability (expect 25% of time for travel)
Power Skills You’ll Bring:
- Knowledge of programming in C# or Python required.
- Computer science or related degree, preferably a bachelor’s degree.
- Strong desire to work as part of a team and build modern software systems.
- "GRIT" - defined by us as the delivery of exceptional results even when the problem is hard and may require long work weeks.
Qualifications That Will Set You Apart:
- Independent thinking and desire to show total ownership of tasks.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to proactively engage.
- Knowledge of JavaScript, or HTML5 is preferred, but not required.
