Communications Supervisor Overseas

 The Communications Supervisor is a hands-on position that coordinates and supervises communications support activities on Ascension Auxiliary Air Force Base.


Annual Salary: Starts at $85,000 DOE



Responsibilities


Essential Duties & Job Functions:

Coordinate and initiate process improvement; prepare on-the-job training (OJT) packages; monitor employee's performance, prepare performance appraisals and monitor quality of service to both local and remote customers. 

Recommend or initiate personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, disciplinary measures and termination actions. 

Oversee the Communications Systems architecture including Network Administration, Global HF/UHF/VHF, fiber/copper media, Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems (ATCALS) equipment, Chugach policies and procedures, IMDS and REMEDY.

Ensure adherence to company policy. 

Development and delivery of presentations to customers and management.

Analyze and resolve work problems. 

Maintain time keeping records.


Job Requirements


Mandatory:

Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or the equivalent experience, with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in communications electronics and maintenance, and 3 or more years of leadership experience.

Must be proficient with all MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).  

Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance at the Secret level, as applicable to the position requirement.

Ability to successfully pass drug screening and medical clearance.

Ability to maintain a valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.

Security+ or AF-approved alternate Information Assurance Certification is required for this position.

Candidate must also be skilled in reading and understanding schematics and circuit diagrams.

Requires experience with operation and maintenance of both data and telecommunications systems, diagnostic and test measurement equipment, network analyzers, and multi-meters.
