Cybersecurity Xtern - The Ultimate Internship
CYBERSECURITY INTERNSHIPS
The Indiana Digital Innovation Economy seeks passionate students to work as Cybersecurity Interns in the summer of 2024. In this role you will work alongside experienced cybersecurity professionals to actively contribute to meaningful projects and gain valuable experience. This is an opportunity to apply the knowledge you’ve learned in the classroom and develop the skills you’ll need for the next step in your career.
WORK AT A RAPIDLY-GROWING TECH COMPANY
The Xtern program places you with a high-growth tech company for a 10-week, full time, paid internship over the summer. Xtern finalists will interview with two-to-five potential tech companies for their internship on November 17th, 2023.
SKILLS ON THE JOB (in no particular order):
- Basic Computer Competencies: Using information technology and related applications, including adaptive devices and software, to convey and retrieve information.
- Integrity: Displaying strong moral principles and work ethic.
- Computer Network Defense: using defensive measures to detect, respond, and protect information, information systems, and networks from threats.
- Information Assurance: using methods and procedures that protect information systems and data by ensuring their availability, authentication, confidentiality, and integrity.
- Critical & Analytical Thinking: Using logical thought processes to analyze information and draw conclusions.
- Information Systems / Network Security: using methods, tools, and procedures, including development of information security plans to prevent information systems vulnerabilities and to provide or restore security of information systems and network services
- Problem Solving/Decision Making: Generating, evaluating, and implementing solutions to problems.
- Infrastructure Design: using the architecture and typology of software, hardware, and networks, including LANS, WANS, and telecommunications systems, their components and associated protocols and standards, and how they operate and integrate with one another and with associated controlling software.
- Vulnerabilities Assessment: using principles, methods, and tools for assessing vulnerabilities and developing or recommending appropriate mitigation countermeasures.
- Teamwork: Working cooperatively with others to complete work assignments, especially while utilizing collaborative software.
- Written communication: Using standard business English to compile information and prepare written documents on paper, computers, or adaptive devices.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be enrolled in college
