CEI intern - 2024

From the moment you join us, you’ll be immersed in what it’s like to be an engineer at Mott MacDonald. You’ll work with a team of exceptional engineers and scientists who have a passion for consultant engineering. From your first week, you’ll gain exposure to project work and start honing the skills you’ve been studying, to begin your career in the profession.

Interns have exposure to some of Mott MacDonald’s most prestigious projects. We’re known for delivering projects in the areas of water, energy, transport, built environment, and advisory. Our South-Central team supports some of the most ambitious transportation, water, and infrastructure projects in North America, including:

  • Construction oversight of the Pensacola Bay Bridge, FL.
  • Reconnecting Texas' Cedar Bayou with the sea after 35 years, restoring life to a once rich marsh and estuarine ecosystem.
  • Providing program management services for the design and construction of the Airbus Final Assembly Line.

  1. Monitors performance of contractors under direction of MM staff member.
  2. Receives direction for solutions from MM engineers.
  3. Utilizes uniform quantity recording and reporting procedures.
  4. Performs routine inspection services while maintaining a closely supervised liaison between supervisor and contractor.

 

To be considered for this internship position, you will currently be working towards a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering. You should be able to demonstrate your interest in your chosen sector through relevant experiences, such as studying relevant modules or previous work experience. You’ll also have:

  • A methodical approach to problem-solving
  • Prior relevant internships, co-ops, or practical work experience preferred
  • An ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently
  • Adept verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail and ability to demonstrate accurate technical drawings and write accurate reports
