Research Associate Summer Intern

Who You’ll Work With:
Bernstein prides itself on its best-in-class Research Associate program; our Associate alumni are numerous across the investment management industry and within the ranks of our highly-rated Senior Analysts. We are looking for highly motivated college seniors and Master’s students to join our premier Equity Research platform for a 10-week internship program in our New York office. If you love research, Bernstein could be a great fit for you! Our summer interns learn about and contribute to the research we are known for: thematic, industrial strength, collaborative, data-driven, bottom up, and always differentiated. You will be assigned to a sector team (such as US Food, Internet, Insurance, etc) and work closely with a Senior Analyst and other Associates who will mentor and develop you.

What You’ll Do:
As a Summer Research Associate you will:
·        Build expertise in your sector working with a seasoned industry expert and other Associates
·        Learn in-depth analysis of the sector, companies and stocks by working with your team through a quarterly earnings cycle
·        Complete a significant project and deliver a presentation to senior management
·        Attend Bernstein Summer School learning and development programs
·        Interact with peers in research, sales, and trading through a variety of networking and social activities

What We’re Looking For:
Our Summer Research Associates are rising seniors or in the final year of their master's programs, and typically have track records of outstanding academic performance. For research roles, it’s important that you have excelled and thrived in a rigorous academic environment. We look carefully at your academic background (including grades, tests, and fields of study) for evidence of the following:
·        Excellent broad-based analytical skills
·        Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
·        Strong quantitative backgrounds and ability to work with data sets, including engineering, math and science degrees
·        Relentless intellectual curiosity
·        We look for consummate team players who seek an intellectual and collegial environment for their development.

Please submit your resume and cover letter (we’re a research firm, and we value a well-crafted narrative). We are interested in your background and unique story, including how you performed as a student. While grades and test scores don’t tell the entire story, it is helpful for us to review them to better understand your academic strengths so please include those too (SAT, ACT, GRE – whatever you think is relevant). We look forward to learning more about you!
