Communications Intern

Internship Overview:

Department Overview:   

The Communications & Omnichannel Service Center is responsible for internal and external communications, community relations, brand and marketing for Retail Business Services and other clients. The group consults with all Retail Business Services functions and other companies as a communications center of excellence. It also serves as the voice of the Connected Customer, providing customer service support for all Ahold Delhaize USA brands through a variety of channels, including traditional and online platforms.  

 

Primary Purpose:  

Responsibilities include developing key communications plans, strategies and tactics, along with key tools and processes, to support efficient and effective internal and external communications that propels the company’s communications strategy, providing communications support for cross-functional initiatives and programs and providing communications project management for key initiatives.  

Key contributor and editor of content for the company’s communication channels, including Intranet, Internet, blogs, podcasts and video. 

Develop internal and external communications plans, strategies and tactics for company initiatives and programs. 

Duties include all aspects of communications, including press calls, working with management at all levels, and overseeing and managing assigned projects. 

 

Qualifications: 

Working towards a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Digital Media or related field.  

Experience working in a collaborative group setting   

Demonstrated excellent oral and written skills. 

Must be a detail oriented and energetic self-starter. 

Must be persuasive and diplomatic in presenting ideas and managing their implementation.
