Procurement Governance Intern

Department Overview:   

The Procurement Governance Department works to create centralized practices throughout the supply chain footprint. The team covers areas such as Logistics, Data Governance, Transportation Planning, Store Planning and more. The Logistics team supports the strategy of inbound asset movement logistics across the business and helps to setup outbound operations with third party carriers. The team works heavily with transportation managers and distribution center leadership on strategic alignment to streamline processes and increase efficiency. Other key stakeholders include the internal finance team, the Procurement In Stock team, the Procurement Services department, category managers, and the Vendor Management department. 

 

Primary Purpose: 

Assist with using transportation management systems to build loads based on vendor, item, and destination 

Help identify and interpret trends in transportation data across the supply chain network  

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to successfully plan and execute upcoming shipments 

Help identify and address areas of opportunity pertaining to team efficiency and strategic alignment  

 

Qualifications: 

Working towards a degree in Supply Chain Management, Statistics, or related field.  

Experience working in a collaborative group setting   

Experience using analytical thinking and problem-solving skills   

Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, appropriately and effectively   

Ability to succeed while working independently  

 

Skills: 

Exposure to Power BI (preferred) 

Exposure to Lean Six Sigma (preferred) 

Intermediate Microsoft Excel ability
