2024 Summer Internship - Internal Audit

Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly motivated student to join State Farm as an Internal Auditor intern. In Internal Audit, we work in a team-centric, agile environment that will challenge and excite you. Our interns gain broad exposure to State Farm. The internship provides a deep and enriching experience that allows you to apply your academic knowledge to a corporation environment and grow personally and professionally. You will partner with a team of talented peers who will mentor and assist you with training and your day-to-day work. You will work individually and collaboratively, while helping to improve and protect State Farm.

Day in the Life

  • The Technology Auditor Intern will join a talented agile team of peers responsible for control testing full stack technology and information security at State Farm.
  • A Technology Auditor Intern applies an understanding of data tools, practices, applications, modern programming languages and environments to assignments.
  • A Technology Auditor Intern works with business partners and effectively uses business judgment to provide control recommendations and share risk management best practices.
  • A successful Technology Auditor Intern builds relationships and is viewed as a trusted advisor by direct business partners.
  • The Intern will network and mentor with individuals across Internal Audit and State Farm to grow their career and learn more about the company.


Qualifications

We Are Looking for Candidates that meet the following:

  • Pursuing a bachelors or master's degree in Computer Sciences, Engineering, Data Science, Business Information Systems, or related field
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Self-starter with strong critical thinking, judgment, problem solving, and communication skills
  • Experience with at least one programming language (Python, Go Lang, Java, JavaScript, etc) a plus
  • Knowledge of API management, incident response, access administration, public cloud, and/or cybersecurity a plus
  • Demonstrated commitment to learning new technology/processes
  • Have excellent collaboration skills to work with other high capacity team members, leveraging each member's areas of expertise

Internship Information:

  • Location: Richardson, TX; Tempe, AZ; Dunwoody, GA; or Bloomington, IL
  • Our internship will occur May 20, 2024 – August 2, 2024
  • Competitive candidates will be invited to participate in online interviews during the fall of 2023
  • Hourly Rate: $28.00/hour based on a 38.75-hour work week
  • Hybrid work environment as internship requirements allow (in-office and work from home)
