JOB TITLE: Territory Manager Intern

FUNCTION: Marketing

SUB FUNCTION: Marketing - Trade Marketing & Distribution - Field

 

ROLE SUMMARY AND OBJECTIVES

What are the key objectives and expectations from this role?  

Territory Manager Interns are charged to learn and embody Reynolds Marketing Services Company’s (“RMSC”) strategic vision of transforming the tobacco industry, while working alongside full-time RMSC employees as they consistently demonstrate their entrepreneurial approach in the selling and execution of the company’s brand marketing plans by leveraging the Marketing Principles.

 

Each Territory Manager Intern is provided exceptional training. This includes comprehensive industry learning and coaching support that enables the individuals to leverage their strengths.  During the Internship Program, the intern will complete a project centred around business opportunities that drive company results. This exposure will help to best prepare for a career at RMSC.

 

A strong candidate for the internship program will need to exhibit professional maturity, fundamental knowledge of the marketing principles, have strong decision-making skills, have influencing capabilities, previous sales experience, strong organization skills, time management skills, and have proficient data-analytic skills.

5 days per week, up to 100 miles per day (greater travel could be possible)

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Participate in a full-time Internship Program for 10 weeks. 
  • Learn about our brands, products, sales, distribution, and consumer marketing brand strategies.
  • Make sales visits to established traditional and non-traditional retail outlets (c-gas, tobacco shops, convenience stores
  • Actively promote the marketing mix to drive performance measures
  • Using Data Analytics to make informed decisions and drive the business forward
  • Exhibit Relationship building and collaboration with our customers and co-workers in other Regions and Divisions
  • Effectively and appropriately use independent judgment in making business and strategy recommendations
  • Develop and present a strategic business analysis project addressing real business opportunities and creating action plans against the opportunity
  • Timely completes administrative tasks including e-Learnings, expense reports and vehicle mileage reports.

Essential Requirements

  • 21 years or older at the start of Internship Program
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license with no restrictions and safe driving record

 

Experience Required

  • Proficient with MS Office Applications and Data Analytics

Physical Requirements (*Essential functions)

  • *Ability to lift 30 lbs.
  • *Ability to climb and work from heights ranging from 9 to 12 feet
  • *Ability to access and work in limited and confined spaces
  • *Ability to visually inspect and manipulate merchandise and advertising displays
  • *Ability to frequently stoop, kneel and crouch

Education / Qualifications / Certifications Required

  • Rising senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree – Business Preferred

SALARY AND BENEFITS OVERVIEW

Wage Information 

Hourly Rate: Undergraduate Rate: $21.00 per hour / Graduate Rate: $38.50 per hour
