Data Science Intern

Required Technical and Professional Expertise 

  • Have exhibited a knowledge of or interest in machine learning, statistical analysis, or data mining through prior internships, independent study projects, hackathons, and/or publications. 
  • A solid understanding of computer science or experience with at least one scripting language (Python is preferred).
  • Effective and comfortable working both independently and as a member of a cross-functional team; able to confidently present ideas to a group of peers or managers. 
  • Must be qualified to work for ASAP.

 

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise 

  • A minimum of one work term in a position related to data science or machine learning. 
  • Proficiency with Python's machine learning and data science libraries (Scikit-Learn, SciPy, Pandas, TensorFlow). 
  • A general working knowledge of databases and data-engineering software (SQL, Spark). 
  • Understanding of cloud computing platforms, including IBM Cloud, Azure, and AWS
