Clean Energy Analyst (Remote or Hybrid; May 2024 Grad)

ICF is seeking qualified analysts to support our expanding energy services team in the areas of energy market modeling, environmental analysis, and policy research.  You will contribute to the development of innovative, high quality analysis products and services, typically working with all levels of staff.  The team’s primary services involve leveraging ICF’s energy sector research, data, and relevant analytical tools to inform client strategy and assess policy impacts of energy and environmental policies, including decarbonization policies. Major clients are the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Energy and other federal, state and local, and NGO clients.

This entry-level, full-time role can be a remote or hybrid from our Reston, VA office. The expected start date is by Summer 2024.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research, analysis, and writing on specific technical or economic issues related to energy markets and energy/environmental policies affecting the energy sector
  • Compile and analyze data to highlight trends or to be used as inputs in power sector and other economic models
  • Work with various proprietary or third-party energy and economic models
  • Develop reports and presentations to convey key analytic findings to internal and external clients

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Math, Public Policy or related subjects

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Math, Public Policy or related subjects
  • 1+ years of experience working with quantitative data and modeling
  • Experience with National Energy modeling System (NEMS)
  • Excellent research and writing skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate clearly
  • Strong quantitative and data analysis skills, specifically in the use of spreadsheets
  • Some knowledge of electric power, petroleum, natural gas, or renewable energy markets and infrastructure
  • Experience using economic and statistical modeling a plus
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel and Access) skills

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:

$51,333.00 - $87,267.00
