Summer 2024 Tax Intern
A Day in the Life
Tax Interns conducts tax accounting and performs analysis, prepare returns, and make payments in connection with federal, state and local tax activities for Norfolk Southern Corporation and subsidiaries. Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Gathers, compiles, and analyzes data from different sources for use in tax planning, accounting, and compliance
- Prepares tax returns in accordance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Assists in making tax payments.

Education/Experience
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree
- Preferred Majors: Accounting, Finance – Taxation
Compensation
- Freshman (27 or fewer credits) - $3,120/month
- Sophomore (28 to 59 credits) - $3,467/month
- Junior (60 to 89 credits) - $3,651/month
- Senior (90 or more credits) - $3,813/month
- Graduate Student - $4,680/month
*Living stipend of $425/bi-monthly is available to those who qualify.
