Human Resources Development Program - Internship - Summer 2024 (59831)

The Internship Program - May 2024 Start Date

The Human Resources Development Program (HRDP) Internship is a 10-12 week project-based experience for Undergraduate-level Business Administration or Human Resources students that provides interns an opportunity to develop core HR Operations skills and a well-rounded, foundational understanding of HR Operations. During this internship, you will own a project from start to finish with a goal to make a real business impact on Whirlpool Corporation’s operations.

Upon successful completion of the summer internship program, you may be considered for employment opportunities within the Full-Time Human Resources Development Program post-graduation.

Program location

Work out of our North American headquarters in Southwest Michigan. Take advantage of pristine beaches, a thriving art scene, and lush countryside in our location along the coast of Lake Michigan. 

Whirlpool provides complimentary housing at Lake Michigan College for interns who live 50 miles or more from Benton Harbor, MI.

Your day-to-day

Project assignments could be related to:

  • Employee Relations: Data analysis
  • HR Manufacturing: Standardization of processes
  • Talent Acquisition: Continuous Improvement, Social Media Strategy
  • Benefits & Compensation: Executive Compensation process improvements

 

Minimum requirements

  • Progress in Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or Human Resources with an anticipated graduation date of May 2025
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8/4.0
  • Demonstrated experience with Data Analytics & Project Management
  • Must have indefinite US work authorization. Applicants who require visa sponsorship or work authorization now or in the future are not eligible for this program

Preferred skills and experiences

  • On- or off-campus leadership experience
  • Prior Human Resources experience
  • Customer service experience
