IT Intern, Infrastructure (Voice)
CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Information Technology group. We are looking for an IT Intern to support the Enterprise Voice team. This role will conduct data gathering required to rapidly deploy repeatable solutions at our remote locations. In this position, you will be working with telecommunications data, talking to customers and vendors to identify telephone invoices, legacy use of the numbers and organize to enable future designs. The end result will be to facilitate faster deployment of enterprise voice at our remote locations. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, strong analytical and problem-solving skills and possess the willingness to learn new technologies and concepts. This position will function in a team-oriented environment and adhere to project timelines.
Ideal candidates will live in the St. Paul/Minneapolis, MN metro area in order to work a hybrid schedule (2-3 days per week in the corporate office, located in Inver Grove Heights, MN); may consider remote options for top talent. The CHS IT Internship Program is targeted for 5/13/2024 - 8/16/2024 (this timeframe can be somewhat flexible).
Responsibilities
- Facilitate conversations with telephone companies in order to gain customer proprietary network information (CPNI) to CHS IT voice team.
- Build a tracking system for telephone companies in order to track CPNI.
- Organize the telephone data in order to determine current application of each phone line to prepare the data for quicker implementation by the CHS Voice Team.
- Gather existing telephone invoices for each location.
- Determine which phone numbers are functional.
- Determine the purpose of each phone line.
- Determine the location of each phone line.
- Determine Letter of Authorization (LOA) data.
- Build a system to consolidate voice charges and business unit cost savings or expense as they roll into the CHS Enterprise Voice program.
- Perform other work as assigned.
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Graduate degree program in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Management, or similar degree program
Additional Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint
- Written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organization and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to function in a team environment with resource and time constraints.
