IT Engineer Internship
What are you doing next summer? Ever been to Phoenix, Arizona? At PetSmart, we are committed to developing future business leaders through our Emerging Talent programs. By joining our Information Technology (IT) Team as an IT Engineer Intern, you'll join a collaborative group of pet lovers who'll do Anything for Pets.
Our IT team has 4 different departments: Information Security, IT Service Delivery, Business Enabling Systems, and IT Commerce & Customer Engagement.
Whether it’s online or in our stores, the work that the IT team does is instrumental in PetSmart’s success. We have a strategic and actionable plan underway and are looking for associates who are just as excited about it as we are.
WHAT YOU WILL DO?
- Work with internal IT teams and external partners to support technical design building and specification documents and review designs & concepts
- Support execution of technical enhancements for better performance, scalability, and maintainability
- Works with cross-functional IT and business teams to design and develop solutions based on business requirements
- Understanding the agile methodology and able to work in a product team with multiple functions as the product/project demands
- Identify areas of improvement in design, implementation, process, tooling, automated testing, and quality assurance
- Supports the build, test and deployment of full lifecycle solutions
- Assists with building implementation plan and coordinates deployment with platform teams
Opportunity to create relevant stories for pet parents, that deliver solutions for the unique needs of their pets where and when they are receptive to great content

Present your recommendations and original ideas to PetSmart leaders and peers at the end of the summer
Develop and grow your soft skills with the support of a dedicated manager and mentor
WHAT WILL YOU NEED?
- A passion for pets
- Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, and/or related field
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Graduating Fall 2024 or Spring 2025
- Desire to learn, grow and engage with peers and leaders - ask for what you need
- Ability to pivot alongside ever-changing business climate
- Demonstrate professional verbal and written communication
- Ability to display learning agility, reflective listening, critical thinking and analytical skills
- Willingness to relocate to Phoenix, Arizona for the summer and potential future FT role
