Tools and Release Intern (Remote)

Would you like to get a high-level overview of engineering processes that go into releasing a large complex software product? Do you want an opportunity to collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams within a company?

 

You will gain valuable experience in shaping systems critical to Vectorworks' engineering productivity. You will support automating product builds and optimize workflows using in-demand technologies like Python, Jenkins, and AWS

 

The Tools and Release team plays a pivotal role in streamlining and improving Vectorworks' engineering processes, ultimately boosting the productivity of the entire engineering department. Their work serves as the backbone of Vectorworks' product assembly line and puts Vectorworks products into the hands of designers.  

 

During this Internship, You Will:

 

  • Develop web UIs for internal applications.
  • Replace legacy PHP code with new Python/Django applications.
  • Collaborate on updating task management interfaces.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of web applications for process management.
  • Build UI for artifact management and related systems.

 

Here is What Success Looks Like:

 

  • Basic familiarity with JavaScript and dynamic web interfaces.
  • Proficiency in Python. Familiarity with the Django framework is a plus. 
  • AWS or cloud hosting experience. 
  • Motivated and productive work style.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to thrive in a remote work environment. 

 

2024 Internship session:

 

Spring: January 16 - May 10

Summer: June 10 - Aug. 16

Fall: Sept. 16 - Dec 6

 

The ultimate goal of our internship program is to provide students with a learning and training experience that will allow them the opportunity to apply the skills learned in the classroom in a professional work environment.  Although, we would like to offer interns the opportunity to join our workforce on a full-time basis, an offer for a full-time position after an internship is not guaranteed.

 

Eligibility requirements for internships:

 

  • Spring & Fall internships require 16-20 hours of work per week. Summer is 40 hours per week.
  • You must be at least 18 years of age, enrolled in an undergraduate program in your Sophomore, Junior or Senior year.
  • This is a paid internship and compensation will be based on applicant's qualifications. We currently do not provide housing, relocation, or transportation reimbursement. This is a fully remote position. 
  • Interns are not eligible for company benefits.
