Worship Leader
You will oversee and develop the Worship Team while leading 45 nights of worship. You will work closely with the Emcee on all musical elements of the nightly programming, as well as the Media Tech on all transitions and sound. You will work with the youth leaders to create an atmosphere of worship for multiple denominations and various backgrounds. But not only will you have the opportunity to lead worship every night, you will also have ministry opportunities during the day as you serve alongside and lead students on work projects. You will see students’ lives changed as they grow into a deeper understanding of God through serving the community during the day and experiencing powerful programming each night.
Responsibilities:
- Lead worship for nightly programming
- Train and develop the Worship Team
- Maintain weekly contact with full-time staff
- Oversee weekly set selection
- Responsible for all worship slides on ProPresenter
- Facilitate nightly rehearsals for worship
- Organize set up and sound check daily
- Coordinate daily with the Emcee and Media Tech to ensure an effective flow of programming
- Lead and participate alongside students at work projects daily
- Contribute as a team player in all aspects of mission trip facilitation
- Participate in daily devos
Qualifications:
- Must be a believer in Jesus Christ and hold to Next Step's Statement of Faith
- Experience leading worship rehearsals and practices preferred, but not required
- Experience leading and developing a worship team (i.e. creating setlists, leading a band)
- Experience leading worship both vocally and instrumentally
- Familiarity with sound equipment and Mac computers preferred, but not required
- Previous missions experience preferred, but not required
- Fluency in Spanish preferred (for Guatemala location only)
