2024 - 2025 Teaching Fellowship Jobs at K-12 Independent & Private Schools Nationwide

If you’re an upcoming or recent grad looking for a way to enter the teaching field while gaining important experience and mentorship, then we have exciting opportunities to share with you!

Carney, Sandoe & Associates is looking for candidates for Teaching Fellowship positions at the K-12 private and independent schools we partner with across the United States.

Fellowship programs offer novice teachers the opportunity to learn and practice the art of teaching, coaching, and advising while working with mentor teachers.

The goal of these one to two-year programs is to identify aspiring or early career educators (typically recent college graduates) with an interest in day or boarding school teaching experience. Fellowship programs provide individuals with the training, skills, and experience they need to succeed as educators, as well as extensive mentoring and support.

Fellowships are available for a variety of teaching subjects. Teaching Fellows will teach in an academic department and fully participate in the residential (if applicable) and co-curricular life of a school.

These are paid positions. Boarding school opportunities often include room and board as well.

Responsibilities include

  • Support individual students with study skill instruction while observing classes
  • Work with a mentor, and participate in a cohort with other fellows to discuss and learn teaching skills
  • Teach several sections
  • Participate in professional development
  • Coach or provide support for extra-curriculars
  • Chaperone a weekend activity (if applicable)
  • Successfully follow all requirements
  • May live on campus and supervise/participate in the residential life (if applicable)

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated interest in teaching and/or working with young people
  • Co-curricular commitment or interest (e.g., athletics, debate, or community service)
  • Bachelor’s degree in the area you wish to teach as a Fellow
