  • Work hours: Full-time, Evenings; Monday - Friday, 2:30pm to 11:00pm

Qualifications - External

Education
Other graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology upon hire Req Or
Associate's Degree Pref

Experience
1 Year radiologic technologist experience Pref

Licenses and Certifications
CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist Either by the TDH or TMB Upon Hire Req And
ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists 6 Months Req And
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Req

Position Responsibilities A Texas Health Radiographer is responsible for explaining procedures to patient or guardian/family member if applicable prior to and during exam, imaging correct anatomical area of interest and pathology according to department protocols, and performing complex procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerations.

In addition to the required qualifications, a successful Radiographer will

  • assist radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique.
  • process and manipulate images, analyze image quality, troubleshoots, make technique adjustments or repeat procedures as needed.
  • correctly send and transfer images to PACS.
  • assess and recognize the patient’s emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive and psychosocial conditions.
  • operate, care for and maintain equipment.
  • prepare room for examination (i.e. suction, oxygen, supplies).
  • administer contrast media and other medications in accordance with medication administration guidelines.
  • maintain equipment and room to sanitary standards between patients (injectors, table tops, floors).
