Cloud Solution Engineer

Harlem Children’s Zone (HCZ) — a world-renowned education and poverty-fighting organization based in New York — seeks an enthusiastic, dedicated, and mission-aligned Cloud Solution Engineer to join our Information Technology department.

The Cloud Solution Engineer will bring a passion for the mission of Harlem Children’s Zone: break the cycle of intergenerational poverty with comprehensive, on-the-ground programming that builds up opportunities for children and families to thrive in school, work, and life.

The Cloud Solution Engineer works across HCZ to ensure we are cloud-ready, leveraging our Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and/or Google Cloud platforms. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the company’s cloud adoption strategy, suggesting operational/security improvements, implementing solutions and integrations across platforms, and promoting additional cloud services that will benefit and advance the organization's mission. The Cloud Computing Specialist stays current with cloud services and evangelizes new technology solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science or another related field.
  • 2 – 3 years working with and supporting cloud-based solutions

 

Who you are

  • 2 – 3 years working with and supporting cloud-based solutions
  • Experience collaborating across teams to integrate cloud-based solutions
  • Excellent judgment and analytical skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior troubleshooting and documentation abilities
  • Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science or another related field.
  • Prior Cloud Migration experience
  • Experience with O365 in a professional setting
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace admin console in a K-12 setting
  • A cloud computing certification such as:
    • Amazon Web Services (AWS) Solutions Architect – Associate
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals
    • Google Associate Cloud Engineer

 

What you'll do

  • Performs migration of data and structures into cloud platforms
  • Provide recommendations for improving existing business services
  • Integrates new cloud solutions or migrate existing legacy services to Cloud technologies
  • Recommends and documents best practices for cloud technologies
  • Serves as the cloud platform point-of-contact
  • Coordinating staff onboarding to cloud systems
  • Reviewing Cloud account management & governance best practices for risks
  • Uncovering areas of future Cloud growth
  • Aids in defining cloud platform strategy based on organizational business goals
  • Develops and maintains all cloud systems and services
  • Drive services activity & advise on project pipeline by understanding customer needs and identifying relevant solutions and services.

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000-$95,000 with a comprehensive benefits package including employer-covered health insurance.
