Development and Marketing Intern

Internship Application Requirements:

The Position:

The Development and Marketing Internship is designed for a high-energy, results-driven individual interested in training, mentorship, and experience in event planning (marketing, social media & sponsor/donor/volunteer relations). The intern; preferably a student, is available September through December 2023, with start and stop dates agreed upon between the YWCA and the intern; consisting of 12-15 hours per week in the office & at fundraising events.

Qualifications:

  • A self-directed, organized, results-driven individual with strong communication skills
  • Have the capability of attending after-hours fundraising events
  • Able to use PC laptops and perform tasks in Excel
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle
  • Outgoing, creative, diplomatic, and flexible with an interest in event planning and philanthropy
  • Fluency in social media marketing
  • Able to lift, push, move up to 25 pounds
  • Must pass a criminal background check if over the age of 18


Responsibilities:

  • Support planning & execution of fundraisers, including Guys Night Out (Oct. 28th) & Foodie Feast (Nov. 12th)
  • Become well-versed on YWCA Sojourner’s program success
  • Create content & manage sponsor acknowledgment on Facebook
  • Assist with Acknowledgement letters
  • Data entry (Donor Perfect, Excel, Monday)
  • Preparing large mailings
  • Support event publicity, including placing posters and save-the-date cards around town
  • Other duties as assigned

Compensation: $500 Stipend.
