Camp Towanda is the premier co-ed, 7 week sleep-away camp for children ages 7-17. We offer a well rounded program of activities from sports, to the waterfront, Outdoor Adventure and the Arts.
Camp Towanda is looking for an enthusiastic STEM Activity instructor to work with our campers ages 7-17 and lead programs related to creative problem solving skills in the areas of science, technology, engineering, art and math. Previous projects have included model rockets, LEGO building challenges, cardboard boats, popsicle stick bridges and more. You will be directly involved in the curriculum planning and instruction. This is a great way to develop your teaching skills, share your passion and join a fun, collaborative team!
STEM Instructors typically also work with the campers as a counselor, living in a cabin with campers and other co-counselors. Working at Camp Towanda as a counselor provides hands-on experience and leadership opportunities, while building skills that hiring managers are looking for, such as flexibility, adaptability, initiative, self-direction, social and cross-cultural skills, productivity, accountability, leadership and responsibility.
PAID INTERNSHIPS AVAILABLE!
Job Requirements:
- Available mid-June thru mid-August.
- Knowledge of how to work a kiln, pottery wheel and clay.
- Candidates are required to complete at least one year of college
- Qualified references
- Great with children
- Strong work ethic
- Passion for creativity
