Logistics Reporting Analyst Intern (Summer 2024)

The Novelis North America (NNA) team is seeking a Logistics Reporting Analyst Intern. The Supply Chain Logistics Reporting Intern will develop and implement reporting and analysis to improve visibility and drive decision making across the North American transportation network.  They will develop visual tools to communicate the key performance metrics (KPI) results including tender acceptance and on-time in-full.  They will learn the transportation process for all value streams, identify best practices, and recommend process improvements.  Then develop documentation to reflect the process and design changes.  They will assist in the review and updating of team training and audit documentation.  This role reports directly to the Logistics Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and automate reports and tools that can be used to quickly and accurately assess transportation network issues and opportunities
  • Provide data analysis and modeling to drive optimization and improvement across the transportation network
  • Recommend business processes changes to continuously improve transportation delivery performance and cost reduction
  • Review and update training and audit documentation
  • Investigate TMS rating issues in partnership with IT and Procurement and recommend solutions to Operations team and/or carrier base
  • Support efforts on dispute resolution and recommend improvements to reduce process time
  • Collaborate and build relationships with key stake holders in supply chain, operations, and procurement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in process in areas of Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or similar subject area with exposure to supply chain management through course work and/or work experience
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to extract data, draw conclusions and make recommendations
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills
  • Problem solver with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Experience with Python, Power BI or a similar modeling software an asset
