Internal Communications Intern

Summary
Aids in the development and distribution of communication across various channels to engage and inform employees of Kenworth Chillicothe.
Nature of Duties
- Help organize and maintain communication calendar to ensure clear planning of essential messaging.
- Assist in the updating of tools that support communication delivery - such as plantwide displays, email updates, and print postings.
- Manage rotation of plant announcements and initiatives
- Support human resources and plant leadership in identifying effective communication plans for various types of messages.
- Maintain consistent awareness of important events, updates, and initiatives within the plant.
- Compile and prepare daily meeting notes for distribution to management teams.
- Apply writing and visual techniques for effective storytelling through graphics, video, and traditional copy.
- Assist in the coordination and execution of employee engagement and recognition events.
Necessary Qualifications
- Junior/senior level college student majoring in communications, human resource management, or business management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Ability to manage and maintain several projects.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
- Attendance is an essential function of all positions.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- Experience with content creation and delivery, including email, newsletters, etc.
