Human Resources Intern - Summer 2024

About Our Internship Program

Throughout the course of the internship, interns either work on-site or virtually and have regular events, weekly lunch and learn session and receive training customized by our business units. This unique opportunity to gain valuable insights into supporting the needs of Stanley Black & Decker both in the US and Globally. The interns will understand first-hand what a career at Stanley Black & Decker is like and have the opportunity to build a cross-functional professional network. Additional social activities are planned throughout the internship period to provide opportunity to network with SBD professionals. Interns are expected to adapt to change and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, creativity and self-confidence. Interns must be team oriented and able to work collaboratively.

 

Key Responsibilities:

During your internship you will have the opportunity to support Human Resources with key activities including:

Providing a full range of day-to-day HR support to the local team(s) including staffing, employee/labor relations, performance management, organizational development, benefits, compensation, and training & development.

Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in internal processes and make suggestions for change. Develop appropriate plans in support of key business needs in a dynamic, changing environment.

Review processes for compliance with policies.

 

You will have exposure to several areas of the Human Resources at Stanley Black & Decker and will work on a wide variety of tasks and projects with a cross functional team of professionals including: Business Unit Leaders, Talent Development, Compensation and Labor Relations.

 

This position will provide you with:

Qualifications:

The Summer Human Resources intern candidate will preferably have the following qualifications:

Rising Junior or Senior, Target graduation date in 2025 or 2026

Majoring in Human Resources, Industrial Organizational Psychology, Business Administration

Strong Academic Credentials

Must possess strong communication, presentation, and leadership skills

Results-oriented mindset with ability to prioritize and complete projects

Successfully manage strong academics with extracurricular activities.

 

Human Resources Internships are available in the following locations:

Towson, MD,

New Britain, CT

Valley City, Ohio
